Bobby Gene Nelson, 80, Live Oak, FL passed away on Sunday morning, June 2, 2019. The lifelong resident of Live Oak owned/operated Bobby Nelson Farms and Custom Suppliers in Live Oak, and was a member of First United Methodist Church. Mr. Nelson is survived by his wife of 17 years: Susie Nelson, Live Oak, FL; three daughters: Cara Lee Nelson, Live Oak, FL, Evelyn "Prissy" Fletcher (Caleb), St. Augustine, FL, Heather Wright (Mitch), St. Johns, FL; three sons: Samuel M. Nelson (Janie), Oviedo, FL, A. Graig Nelson (Stacey), Ft. Myers, FL, Gene M. Nelson (Amy), Yulee, FL; sister: Linda Raines (Jim) Decatur, AL; nine grandchildren and one-great grandchild.

Bobby was an avid golfer at the Suwannee County Club, and traveled the world to visit many golf tournaments such as the British Open. Born and raised in Suwannee County, Bobby loved his life in Live Oak and his routines with his tight-nit group of friends. He was often found at the Dixie Grille for breakfast with his usual crew, and always went home for lunch with Susie. Bobby was a devoted Gator fan, and spent many Saturdays in Gainesville watching various Gator sports games. Bobby was fortunate to have completed his bucket list, and was proud to have done everything that he ever desired to do in his life.

Services will be held at 11 am Wednesday, June 5th at Daniels Memorial Chapel. The family will begin receiving friends one hour prior to the memorial service.

When describing Live Oak for friends who had never experienced it, Bobby Nelson was always one of the characters that so aptly represented the image, pace, attitude, and closeness of that place. Natural, genuine, and loyal.
