Donald Matthew "Don" McCullers, age 81, of Live Oak, FL passed away Monday, November 27, 2017 at the Haven Hospice Care Center in Lake City, FL. He was a native and life-long resident of Live Oak, FL. Don worked for the U.S. Postal service and proudly served his country having reached the rank of Chief Master Sergeant in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean and Vietnam War. He was a member of the First Baptist Church and the Live Oak Elks Lodge#1165. In his spare time, he enjoyed playing BINGO at the Elks Lodge and working with his cattle.
He was predeceased by his parents, Ollis & Jewell McCullers, a son, Donald M. McCullers, Jr. and his sister, Genevieve (Gene) Turman.
He is survived by his wife, Dawn McCullers, Live Oak; two daughters, Melynn (Patrick) Weeks, Melrose, FL; Vicki Davis, Live Oak; one son, Jeff McCullers, Live Oak; two step daughters, Missy (Phil) Mascioli, Eustis, FL; Paula (Jimmy) McCullers, Live Oak; two step-sons, Michael (Anna) Gianeskis, Gyton, GA; John Gianeskis, Branford, FL; two sisters, Jacqueline (Joe) Mathis, Jennings, FL; Barbara (Miles) Peaden, Live Oak; six grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren, seven step-grandchildren and five step-great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held, Thursday evening from 5 to 7 PM at the funeral home.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM, Friday, December 1, 2017 in the First Baptist Church with Rev. Phillip Herrington & Steve Switzer officiating. Interment will follow in the Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery.
