Earl Bembry, 87 of Live Oak, passed away suddenly on Friday, March 2, 2018 in the Shands of Live Oak Medical Center, Live Oak, FL.
The lifelong Suwannee County native was born Aug. 14, 1930 in McAlpin, FL to the late Charlie Young and Ethel Mae Bembry. He was retired from the Suwannee County Hospital after 24 1/2 years as a technician in surgery, retired after 33 1/2 years with the rank of Captain with the Florida Army National Guard, #269th Engineering Company in Live Oak, was a U. S. Army Veteran of the Korean War and was a longtime member of the Friendship Baptist Church, Live Oak.
He is survived by his wife of 66 1/2 years, Ella Mae Bembry of Live Oak, three sons, Charles Bembry of Lake Butler, Dan Bembry of Augusta, GA and Alvin Bembry of South Boston, VA; two sisters, Hazel Hurst and Bonnie Murrah both of Live Oak; one brother, A. G. Bembry of Ellenton, FL; eight grandchildren and twenty great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted, Tuesday, March 6, 2018 at 11:00 am in the Daniels Memorial Chapel, Daniels Funeral Home, Live Oak with Rev. David Hingson officiating. Interment with Military Honors will follow in the Live Oak Cemetery.
