Edna  Watson
Edna Lee Roberts Watson, 96, passed away from this life to her Heavenly Home on November 23, 2019, at Haven Hospice Care Center, Gainesville, FL.
Mrs. Watson was born in Haines City, FL, but lived in Bell, FL, until marrying Henry Watson and moving to Suwannee County, FL, in 1941. She resided in the Branford community until April 26, 2017, when she relocated to Hunters Crossing Place, an assisted living facility, in Gainesville, FL.
Edna graduated from Bell High School in 1941. During her marriage, she was a farmer's wife, homemaker, school worker, manufacturing employee, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She worked diligently in many roles always doing her part at home, at church and in her community serving her family, neighbors and all who came in contact with her. Having a meal at her table or receiving a meal or a cake or a pie from her kitchen were her ultimate expressions of Christian hospitality. She was a faithful and lifelong member of the Burlington Santa Fe Church of Christ, Branford, FL.
Mrs. Watson is survived by her daughters Faye Jonas (Larry), Alachua, FL, Kathy Horne (Lyle), Branford, FL, two granddaughters Dana Jonas Howell, Richardson, TX, and Maria Jonas Fahlsing (Chris), Lorton, VA, and grandson Jimmy Wilkerson (Aubrey), Branford, FL, five great grandchildren William Howell, Matthew Howell, McKayden Wilkerson, Wren Wilkerson and Violet Fahlsing. She is also survived by her brother Gerald Roberts, her sisters Rosi Townsend, Polly Stover and Selma McClarigan.
Mrs. Watson was preceded in death by her husband Henry Watson, an infant son, her parents George and Sallie Roberts, three brothers: Gilbert, Adele and Festus Roberts, and sister Amma Lou Koon.
A celebration of life will be held at the Burlington Santa Fe Church of Christ, 4393 U. S. Highway 27 East, Branford, FL 32008, on Friday, November 29, 2019. Visitation will begin at 10:00 A.M. at the church followed by funeral services at 11:00 A.M. Ken Campbell, minister, will conduct the service. Following the funeral service, interment will take place in the Santa Fe Cemetery near the church building.
In lieu of flowers, memorials or donations may be made to the Building Fund, Burlington Santa Fe Church of Christ, at the above address, or to Haven Development Department, 4200 NW 90th Boulevard, Gainesville, FL 32606-3809.
