Frances's Story

Mrs. Frances Louise Culbreth age 87 of Live Oak passed away Saturday, February 17, 2018 at the Advent Christian Village in Dowling Park where she had been a resident for five and a half years and previously at Suwannee Health Care for two and a half years. She was born October 12, 1930 in Mayo, FL to the late Jordan and Nora (Leggett) McCullers. Mrs. Culbreth retired from The Commercial Bank where she was in bookkeeping and customer service for over thirty-five years. She was a member of Live Oak Church of Christ. She enjoyed gardening, canning/freezing, cooking and farming with her husband. Mrs. Culbreth and her late husband, James, loved having their grandson, Cody, and half-sister, Heather spend time on the farm with them. The Culbreth nieces and nephews fondly remember "Aunt Louise and Uncle Basel" for hosting many wonderful fish fries, peanut boilings, pancake/sausage suppers and many other family get-togethers on the farm which, often included her delicious acre peas. Mrs. Culbreth was preceded in death by her husband of almost 59 years, James "Basel" Culbreth and their son, James "Brent" Culbreth along with five brothers, Bobby, Levis, Loomis, Ottis (Estelle) , Matthew (Donnice) McCullers. Survivors include her grandson, Cody Culbreth; sister in laws; Youlee & Margo, numerous cousins, host of nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, as well as friends that loved her dearly. A graveside service for Mrs. Culbreth will be held at 11 am Tuesday, February 20, 2018 at Live Oak Cemetery with Rev. Jack Jones, Chaplin of The Good Samaritan Center, Advent Christian Village will be officiating.
