Frances passed from this life into the loving arms of Jesus on Friday, June 30, 2017. She was born in 1923 to Ruby Nolan and Clarence Dear of Largo, FL. While visiting Live Oak to visit with residing family members, she met Chandler Walker and they married in August 1939. They had four children: Carolyn, Barbara, Nick and Larry.

In 1966 she met and married Buford Melton, and moved to Titusville where Buford worked at the Cape. After retiring they moved back to Live Oak where she enjoyed working in her yard, doing crafts, reading, crocheting, completing find-a-word puzzles and going to church at Grace Lutheran Church in Live Oak. She was also a member of Tops Chapter 9798 for 14 years.
Her survivors include her daughter: Barbara (Jimmie) Walker Crain; son: Larry (Kaye) Walker; brother: Buddy (Iva Dean) Dear, 13 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren and 11 great-great-grandchildren.
