Franklyn's Story

Franklyn H. Blount was born Oct. 22, 1939 in Fort Pierce, FL to Noble Blount and Florence Elizabeth Brown. He lived there until he relocated to Live Oak 24 years ago.
He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather with a strong Christian background and beliefs.
He is a fifth generation Florida native whose ancestors settled in Alligator in 1823.
He was a U.S. Air Force veteran who served during the Vietnam war era as a nuclear weapons mechanic stationed in Germany.
He was an aircraft mechanic who worked for Piper Aircraft and Pratt Whitney until changing careers and working in Corrections until retiring from Mayo Correctional Facility as a sergeant.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara Blount of Live Oak; daughter, Margaret Barber of Live Oak; son, Howard Blount of Ft. Pierce, FL; granddaughters, Erin Barber, Meghan Barber and Samantha Barber of Live Oak; grandson, Brent Blount and granddaughter Brittany Blount both of Ft. Pierce, FL.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, Feb. 11, 2017 at 11 a.m. at First Baptist Church, Live Oak. In lieu of flowers, please donate to your favorite charity or church.
Deceased Jan. 26, 2017.
