Gerald's Story

Gerald "Jerry" Scott, 77, Mayo, FL passed away on Monday, April 24, 2017. The Suwannee County native moved to Mayo five years ago from Live Oak, FL. Mr. Scott was the owner/operator of Scott's Furniture in Live Oak for sixty plus years, served in the National Guard for ten years, was a member of the Elk's Lodge and a former Chairman of the Suwannee County Museum. He was also a County Commissioner and avid diver.
Mr. Scott is survived by his wife of fifty-five years: Gloria Scott, Mayo, FL; two daughters: Angela Scott (Jack Putnal) , Mayo, FL, Lynn Scott Neukam (Cliff), Lake City, FL; five grandchildren: Brian Wilson, Alberto Diaz, Emily Wilson, Ande Putnal, Riley Montague; two great-grandchildren: Ethan Wilson and Easton Wilson. In lieu of flowers family asks donations be made to Advent Christian Church of Live Oak, 699 Pinewood Dr SW, Live Oak, FL 32064, your church or charity of your choice. A memorial service will be held at 11 am Saturday, April 29th at 294 NE Suwannee Trail, Mayo, FL 32066 with lunch following at 12 pm.
