Mr. Keith D. Bailey, 63, of Wellborn, passed away peacefully on Sunday Morning, August 13, 2017 at the Suwannee Valley Haven Hospice Care Center after an extended illness. He was born in Suwannee County on November 25, 1953 to the late Barney Bailey and Loraine Law Bailey. He was a life-long resident of the Wellborn and Suwannee County area and worked for PCS Phosphate for over 40 years. He was a past Master Mason; and in his spare time, he enjoyed farming, working his cows and gardening. He also loved to collect antiques, fish for blue gills and was known to be a practical jokester and story teller. He was a member of Christ Central Ministries.
He is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Kathy Bailey of Wellborn; sons; Danny Bailey, Barney Bailey (Jeanie) and Philip Bailey (April) all of Wellborn; brothers; Don Bailey (Mary-Ann) of Groveland, FL and Johnny Bailey (Joann) of Wellborn; sisters; Shirley Mikell (Randolph) and Connie Bennett (Ronnie) both of Lake City. Three grandchildren; Dylan Bailey, Garrett Bailey and Alexis Bailey along with many extended family members and friends also survive.
Funeral services for Mr. Bailey will be conducted on Wednesday, August 16, 2017 at 1 P.M. at Mt. Beulah Baptist Church in Wellborn with Pastor Dale Brannon officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening, August 15, 2017 from 6-8 P.M. at the funeral home. Following the funeral service, the family will be having a covered dish reception in the church fellowship hall and wish to invite friends and family to join them.
