Lester Lonzo Bunting, 92, of Live Oak, Fla. passed away on April 21, 2016. Lester was born on March 23, 1924 in Kenansville, Fla. Lester gave dedicated service to the US Navy Pacific Theater effort during WWII. Following his Navy service, Lester became a residential contractor in Miami, Fla. building quality homes until he retired to Live Oak in 1984 where he continued to serve with the Masonic Fraternal Organization.
Lester is survived by his loving family, his spouse of 66 years: Elsie; daughter: Susan of Live Oak; daughter: Barbara of Lake City; son: Stephen of Fort Lauderdale; grandson: Scott Gorton of Plantation; sister: Virginia Bunting Murphy; brother: Clinton James Bunting and numerous nephews, nieces and their children who also remember their favorite Uncle Lester's loving and giving spirit.
The family will be receiving friends for a visitation at Daniels Funeral Home in Live Oak from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, April 26. Graveside service will be at Florida National Cemetery, 6502 SW 102nd Avenue, Bushnell, Fla. at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, April 27 where military honors will be rendered.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be given in honor of Lester Bunting to Haven Hospice of Lake City, Fla., the Florida Sheriff's Association or any preferred charity of choice.
