Lilya Alina Patterson, 92, went to her Heavenly Home from Haven Hospice Suwannee Valley Care Center, Lake City, Florida, on July 24, 2017. Born in Finland, she became an America citizen at age two along with her parents, and lived in the Northeast for many years. She was preceded in death by two children. She made her home at Northern Florida Christian Center, O'Brien, Florida, for 22 years.
When her health declined, she moved to The Advent Christian Village, Dowling Park, Florida, where she lived for the past 7 years.
In past years, she was an excellent seamstress and had an eye for design and beauty. In Connecticut and Northern Florida, she taught youth Sunday school.
Greatly beloved by many for her caring interest in everyone by listening and her loving offer to pray. She will be buried at Northern Florida Christian Center Cemetery, O'Brien, Florida. A service to honor her memory will be held in the Center church on Sunday, August 6, 2017, at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Retha Garten officiating.
