Mamie Inez Chauncey Hurst, 79, passed away Sunday, May 7, 2017 after a lengthy illness at Surrey Place Care Center in Lake City, Fl. The lifelong resident of Live Oak was a member of Westwood Baptist Church, enjoyed gospel music and when she was able she loved her flowers. She always had a beautiful yard, her favorite being Japanese Magnolias, Camillas and her rose garden. Mrs. Hurst met and married the love of her life Thomas Hurst and worked on the farm at his side. She also worked for Sears where she retired after 35 years as Manager of Sales and Service Dept and after retiring she decided to come home to the family and farm again. Mrs. Hurst is surived by her loving husband of sixty-three years: Thomas Hurst, Live Oak, FL; daughter: Zandra (Joe) Phillips, Live Oak, FL; son: Shawn Hurst, Live Oak, FL; daughter/granddaughter: Elizabeth (Josh) Butler, Live Oak, FL; son/grandson: Phillip Hurst, Dothan AL; brother: Eugene (Martha) Chauncey, McAlpin, FL; grandchildren: Skyler (Stephanee) Phillips, Joseph (Toni) Phillips, Alexandra Hurst; and thirteen great-grandchildren. Services will be held at 11 am Thursday, May 11th at Westwood Baptist Church with Dr. Jimmy Dees and Dr. Ben Bush officiating. Interment will follow in Macedonia Cemetery. There will be a visitation held on Wednesday, May 10th at Daniels Funeral Home from 6:00-8:00 pm.
