Molly Ann Parson, age 96, passed away Tuesday February 6,2018 at the Standing Stone Care and Rehabilitation Center in Monterey, Tennessee.
Molly was born on April 14, 1921 in Lenoir, North Carolina to the late Gaither and Alice Church Walker. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Ralph Dayton Parson; two sons, Wayne Parson and Dayton Parson; two grandchildren Michael Thurman and Patti Payton; six brothers; and seven sisters.
She was a beloved and caring mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother to all her family. One of her favorite pastimes was sewing clothes for her children and grandchildren. She excelled at sewing quilts and loved giving them to her family and friends. She was devoted to reading her Bible daily and was a long time member of the Rosemary Baptist Church in Live Oak, Florida.
She is survived by two daughters, Ruth McMurtrey of Monterey, Tennessee and Gayle and her husband Steve Clapner of Arlington, Texas; two brothers, Wallace Walker of Lenoir, North Carolina and Collis Walker of Eureka, Montana; 14 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
Her wishes for a graveside Memorial service at Live Oak Cemetery will be honored.
