Norma's Story

Norma Jean Powers the daughter of Shelton Tommy Clark and Q.D. Howard Clark was born in Fort Meade, Florida on January 27, 1943 and passed away in Batesville, Arkansas on May 11, 2017 at the age of 74 years. She was a member of the Church of the Nazarene and enjoyed reading, traveling, gardening and flowers. She enjoyed spending time with her family. Norma was preceded in death by her parents and half-sister Novell Morgan. She is survived by three sons: Tim Durant and wife Dorine of Flower Branch , Georgia, Tom Durant of Tumbling Shoals and Robert L. Durant of Sylvania, Georgia; two daughters: Veronica Haile and husband Mike of Greers Ferry and Tonya Nail and husband Rusty of Greers Ferry, her former husband Robert F. Durant of Pinelias Park, Florida, brother, Charles Simmons of Heber Springs and a sister Linda Bailey and husband Dan of Drasco, two -half-sisters Cindy Hingson of Live Oak, Florida and Jo Baker of Valdosta, Georgia. She is also survived by nine grandchildren: Bill Vanadore and wife Lynsey of Florida, Clayton Vanadore of Florida, Casey Lambert of Arcadia, Florida Codee Washington and husband Rowdy Of Tieton, Washington, Dustin Haile and wife Kayla of Heber Springs, Levi Haile of Greers Ferry, Christina Crosby and husband Seth of Branson, Florida, Caleb Nail of Greers Ferry and Jessy Nail of Greers Ferry, two great-grandchildren Finnley Haile of Heber Springs and Misty Washington of Tieton, Washington besides many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. A visitation will be held on Monday, May 15, 2017 at 4:00 pm at Family Funeral Chapel and funeral services will be at 5:00 pm Monday in Family Funeral Chapel by Bro. Marvin Ferdricks. There will be a visitation on Wednesday, May 17, 2017 at Mt. Gilead Baptist Church in Falmouth, Florida from 1:00- 2:00 pm and grave side services will follow.
