Paul's Story

Text size

Paul Elbert Crowley, 81, long-time resident of O'Brien, Fla., passed away peacefully on May 14, 2016 at Florida North Regional Medical Center, Gainesville of complications with his heart.
Paul was a devout Christian and loved his relationship with his Heavenly Father which was deeply shared with his beloved wife (Marilyn) who passed away two years ago, almost to the day. He missed her every day since her passing and was wanting to be with her. He is truly happy now and they are forever together again.
Paul was a loyal member of First Baptist Church in Branford for many years. Paul was also a dedicated Freemason and a member of Branford Lodge No. 130, as well as a member of the Branford Chapter #112 of the Order of Eastern Star. As if these two organizations didn't keep him busy enough, he also was a very active member of the local TOPS Group, where he developed many friendships. He will truly be missed by his Church family, his fellow TOPS friends and all of his Brothers and Sisters within the Masonic Fraternity.
Paul was a proud veteran of both the United States Army and the United States Navy and was delighted to see his son, John, aspire to the rank of Chief Warrant Officer in the U.S. Army, as an Apache Helicopter Pilot and Instructor. His daughter, Debra, attained the rank of Lieutenant (LDO) in the U.S. Navy, as an Anti-Terrorist/Force Protection Officer.
Paul was survived by his son, John Crowley (Lorrie); daughters Debra Crowley Kleinsmith (Lance), Karin McLearn, Phyllis McFann (Robert) and Denise Short; and brother Richard Crowley (Gloria), as well as 16 grand children and five great grand children.
