Syron's Story

Brother Syron E. DePass was born on April 3, 1971 to Mr. Gene Lloyd DePass and Minister Dorothy Fisher DePass. He accepted Jesus Christ as his personal savior at an early age and became a member of Ebenezer African Methodist Episcopal Church.
He was called home to eternal rest on Saturday, Sept. 3, at the Lake City Veterans Hospital. Syron graduated from Suwannee High School and he earned an Associates of Arts from St. Petersburg College. Due to his aspirations for higher education, he attended Bethune-Cookman University and Florida Agricultural & Mechanical University to pursue a Bachelor's of Science.
Syron served his country in the Army and the National Guard. Consequently, he was also a proficient and skillful musician. He complimented several churches in Live Oak which included Tabernacle of Faith, Beulah Hill Missionary Baptist Church, Allen Chapel A.M.E. and Fort Union A.M.E. Syron was an advid Florida State University Seminoles football team fan. Go Noles!
Beautiful memories are left in the surviving hearts of one brother, Anthony DePass (Regina) of Tampa, Fla.; one uncle, Rudolph DePass (Barbara) of Bethesda, Md.; one aunt, Delores Carter of Nutley, Nj.; one nephew, Gabriel DePass of Tampa, Fla.; one goddaughter, Shyneequa Livingston of Tampa, Fla.; one godmother, Mayola Calhoun of Live Oak, Fla.; first cousins, Michael DePass, Curtis DePass, Regenia Stokley, Carter L. Carter, April Carter, Robin Walton, Tracey Morone, Tonya Martindale, Dianne Fisher, Mary Ann Nelson, Alphanso Fisher, Jr., Nathaniel Fisher, Gail Nelson (deceased), a host of other cousins, special friends ShaDawn Powell, Surretta Bell, Brianna Bell and many other fond friends.
Funeral services will be Saturday, Sept. 10 at 11 a.m. at Ebenezer African Methodist Episcopal Church, Live Oak, Fla. Rev. Charles Graham, pastor and Bishop Henry Smart, officiating.
Bennie Thomas Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.
