Miss Eva Marie Curl, 8 months of age, entered this earthly life, in Gainesville, Florida, on Thursday, June 9, 2016 at 8:03A.M. This perfect little angel weighed a fabulous 7lbs. and was 20 inches long. Eva was an especially happy and perfectly healthy baby until she recently exhibited sudden symptoms of, and was finally able to be diagnosed with, a very rare mitochondrial disease. This disease is a genetic disorder which occurs when the structure that produces energy for a cell malfunction and ultimately causes organ failure. Eva was a very determined baby girl. This was a trait that was clearly strong throughout her brief but courageous battle with this disease. The family found strength in the scriptures, especially in JAMES 1:17 "Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above...". Eva left this earthly life, at home, in O'Brien, Florida, cradled by her loving family, on Thursday, February 23, 2017 at 8:03 P.M..
Eva is survived by a very loving family including her parents, Levi and Dusti Barnett Curl of O'Brien, FL; her half-brother, Zaine Gauge Curl and half-sister, Elina Curl, her grandparents, Kellie Greene Curl (Jason Carter) of Lake Park, GA; Justin & Christy Curl of Branford, FL; and Lisa Barnett (Victoria Wade) of O'Brien, FL; great-grandparents, Hugh & Kim Murray of Branford, FL; Terry & Bonnie Barnett and Amelia Wade of O'Brien, FL; special aunts and uncles, Dennis & Dorothy Kay Perry and Jacob Barnett (Sabrina Brooks). Numerous other family members and friends also survive. She was preceded in death by grandparents, Fred Hayward Greene, Kathleen Gibson "Kathy" Greene and Carlton "Bud" Dees.
Services for little Miss Eva began promptly at 8:03P.M. on Monday, February 27th, 2017 in the Chapel of the Dees-Parrish Family Funeral Home in Lake City, Florida, officiated by Chief Buddy Williams, Chief of Police of Live Oak, Florida and a much beloved longtime family friend. The family received friends prior to the service on Monday. Private family interment services will be held at a later date.
