Gary's Story

Gary Everett Brown passed away Monday, February 13, 2017 after a long illness. He was born on June 18, 1954 in Gainesville, FL. He is survived by his loving wife Deb-Rose of 36 years, three sons; Garrett (Alex Anne), Stuart and Jackson,
brother; Herbie II, nieces Franne Martin, Mary Anne Folsom, Ashley Brown, nephew Herbie III and several grand nieces and nephews. Gary is predeceased by his parents Herbert and Evelyn Brown as well as his sister Carol Brown.
Gary grew up in Trenton where he graduated. From Trenton High School, he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Food and Resource Economics from the University of Florida and a Juris Doctorate degree from Walter F. George School of Law from Mercer University. Gary and Deb Rose moved to Live Oak in 1987 in order for him to work at Airth, Sellers, Lewis , Decker and Prevatt law firm. He also worked as an assistant state attorney in the third circuit for 20 years.
Gary was an avid outdoorsman enjoying hunting and fishing. He was a committee member of the National Wild Turkey Federation, First Baptist Church of Live Oak and also a member of the Live Oak Camp of Gideon's International - an association of Christian, business and professional men. He loved coaching baseball, establishing a love of the game in young boys. Gary enjoyed sports. His sons provided ample opportunities for him to watch them playing football, soccer and baseball where he never missed a game.
Gary was known to have a passion for turkey hunting, the Florida Gators, knowing Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior and being with his family and friends. No man has ever loved his sons more than Gary Brown.
Visitation will be Thursday, February 16th from 5:00-7:00 at Daniels Funeral Home.
Memorial Services will be held on Friday, February 17th at First Baptist Church with Phillip Herrington officiating. Arrangements entrusted to Daniels Funeral Home. In Lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to the Gideons International, www2.gideons.org/donate or to First Baptist Church of Live Oak, 401 W Howard St, Live Oak, FL 32064.
