Jack T. Johnson was born on April 4, 1942 to the late Gene and Avie Johnson in Jasper, FL. Jack received his education at J.R.E. Lee High School. After graduation, Jack joined the United States Army and served his country honorably. He retired as a Sargent Major form the US Army, where he served two terms in the Vietnam and Korean Wars.
While serving in the military, Jack joined Masonic Organization and the American Legion. Upon retiring from the Army, he attended college and graduated with his Bachelors Degree in Criminal Justice and started working as a probation and parole officer and retired after years of service.
Jack departed this life on Wednesday, Dec. 28, 2016 in White Springs, FL. He was preceded in death by his mother and father, along with his brothers, Willie, Charles, Palmer and Robert Johnson. one sister, Dora Williams. He leaves to cherish his memories, his wife, Beverly Johnson; two sisters, Minnie L. Burton, White Springs FL and Mattie P. Johnson, Jasper, FL; eight children, Vickie Bugler, Atlanta, GA, Rhonda Johnson, and Jacqueline Williams (John Jr.) White Springs, FL. Lee Jr., Daminyan, Kristy, LaKesha and Terrell Johnson, Jasper FL. He also leaves behind 20 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, two God-daughters, Raven Merine, Monica Peterson and one God-son: Camron Walker; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and sorrowing friends.
Home-going celebration will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 7, 2017 at Jesus the Living Word of Deliverance Church in Jasper, FL. The family will receive all other family and sorrowing friends on Friday, Jan. 6, 2017 from 6-8 p.m. at the church.
