Kennith L. Britton, 79, passed away at the V.A. Hospital in Lake City, FL on Friday, Dec. 16, 2016 after a short illness. He was born to the late Tilmon H. and Stella Peters Britton on Mar. 29, 1937 in Daus, TN.
As a young man, Ken served in the U.S. Army during the early 1960s and traveled to Germany. Upon leaving the army, he lived in Germany until 1973. A passionate bluegrass musician, playing the banjo, guitar and mandolin, he headed a bluegrass band for many years, once performing with Minnie Pearl.
Mr. Britton is survived by his three step-children, Michele (Spence) Provan, Barbra (Eddie) Cannon, and Chuck (Debbie) Murray; one brother; Glenn (Gail) Britton; and many nieces, nephews and grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Sarita Britton and two brothers, Charles Britton and Carl Britton. A family service will be held at his home at a later date.
