Lee Renfroe, 85, went home to be with the Lord on Jan. 17, 2017. He was born on Jun. 8, 1931 to the late Warren and Maggie Renfroe. At the time of his death, he was a resident of Surrey Place Care Center. Lee graduated from high school in Century, FL in 1948. He began his studies in Davenport, IA but eventually graduated from Florida Berber College in Jacksonville, FL on Jan. 26, 1951.
Soon thereafter, he met the love of his life, Eloise Renfroe, and they were married on Feb. 7, 1951. Happily married for 65 years, they had two sons, Ellis and Michael. Lee joined the US Navy on Oct. 11, 1951 and served his country proudly as a Senior Chief Petty Officer for 23 years. Upon his navel retirement, he moved to Live Oak, FL.
He was talented, versatile and successful at any endeavor he pursued. Lee held various jobs as a hair stylist, carpenter, insurance salesman and tax collector.
He loved spending time with his family, traveling and fellowship at Faith Chapel in Jasper, FL, where he served as an elder.
Survivors include: wife, Eloise Renfroe; sons, Ellis Renfroe (deceased) and Michael (Carla) Renfroe, grandchildren, Liberty, Justus, Bret, and Chad Renfroe, seven great-grandchildren, as well as many second and third generation nieces and nephews, many cousins, and a beautiful host of friends.
A memorial service will be held, Saturday, Jan. 28, 2017 at 1 p.m. at the Live Oak Christian Church, 1015 Ohio Ave., North. Officiating the service is Pastor Phil Wills.
