Leslie Sylvester Hatch, 94, of Suwannee, passed away on Friday, June 24, 2016.
Mr. Hatch was born in Miami, Fla. on April 28, 1922 to George and Ethel Hatch. He moved to Suwannee from Suwannee County in 1986. Mr. Hatch served his country in the United States Navy during World War II and then made his living as a carpenter and farmer, being great at both. He loved to fish and when his wife Ms. Ozzie was able they loved to travel. He was a member and Deacon of Suwannee Baptist Church.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Ozelle Hatch and daughter Jeannie Hatch. He is survived by son, Gary (Martha) Hatch of Suwannee County, Fla.; daughters, Reba (Jackie) Shaw of Suwannee, Fla., Averial (Frank) Kovalesky of Kennesaw, Georgia and Marylyn (Don) Montgomery of Dowling Park, Fla.; sister, Hazel Carlton of Summerville, South Carolina and 7 grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 9, 2016 at 11 a.m. at Suwannee Baptist Church with Rev. Fred Edwards officiating.
In lieu of flowers the family has suggested donations be made to the Florida Baptist Children's Home, 8415 Buck Lake Road, Tallahassee, Fla. 32317 or the Liberian Mission in care of Suwannee Baptist Church, PO Box 147, Suwannee, Fla., 32692.
Arrangements have been placed under the care of Rick Gooding Funeral Home, Cross City, Fla., 352-498-5400.
