Captain Mervin J. Libby, 70, passed away on September 28, 2017, in the loving care of Haven Hospice in Gainesville. He was born on January 1, 1947 in Vincennes, Indiana. At age 12 he moved to the Advent Christian Home in Dowling Park where he came to know and love Pomroy and Gerry Carter as his parents.
Mervin was a true Patriot. He served in the US Army as a Parachutist and Special Forces Law Enforcement Officer. He retired as a Captain and received many awards and medals.
He is survived by his Wife Donna, his children John Fike and Sherame Haugh and 4 grandchildren. A graveside service will be held on Sunday, October, 8th at 3:00 PM at the Bixler Memorial Gardens East, 23739 Park Center Drive, Live Oak, FL. 32064. Refreshments will follow at the Harmony Center.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Advent Christian Village.
