Raymond O. Humphreys, 89, of Branford, Fla. passed away on June 30, 2016 at Surrey Place of Live Oak after an extended illness.
Mr. Humphreys was born in Branford, Fla. on November 5, 1926 to James L. and Bessie Humphreys. He graduated from Branford High School. He was a veteran for both the Merchant Marines and the United States Army. He retired from the Florida Department of Transportation after 35 years of service. He was an avid fisherman in his spare time and loved to work in his vegetable garden.
He is preceded in death by his parents and four brothers, John L. Humphries, Carl W. Humphries, Curtis G. Humphries and Melvin Humphries. He is survived by his wife of almost 63 years, Frances B. Humphreys of Branford, his son, Van (Carla) Humphreys of Branford, Fla., and his granddaughter, Sara Humphreys also of Branford, Fla.; three sisters, Mrs. Alatheia Millikan of Cottonwood, Ca., Jo Ella Humphries of Branford, Fla., and Mrs. Frankie Johnson of Live Oak, Fla., as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held on Saturday July 2 at 2 p.m. in Oak Grove Cemetery, Branford, Fla. with Mr. Bob Fletcher officiating.
