Samuel J. A. Beasley, age 73, passed away Friday, Feb. 10, 2017 at Shands Medical Center in Gainesville, Florida. Mr. Beasley was a life-long resident of Live Oak, Fla. He was the son of the late Thomas and Mildred Beasley and was born April 29, 1943.
He is a member of Allen Chapel A.M.E Church, Houston, Fla. He is a retiree from the State of Florida for 35 years. He was a dedicate civil right leader, he was a lifetime member of the NAACP. The voters League. Mr. Beasley was a well known community leader.
Samuel leaves a legacy of love to his wife, Mary; his children, Samuel Beasley, Jr. of Live Oak Fla., Sonja (Tommy) Daymond of Tallahassee, Fla, Derrick Bealey (Joe Wiggins) of St. Petersburg, Fla., Kimberly (Jerry) McDuffey Gulfport, Miss., Kenneth Beasley of Live Oak, Fla., Margaret Collins of Quincy, Fla. and Terrence Allen of Live Oak, Fla.; seven grandchildren, Jermaine Walker of Graceville, Fla., Whitney (Benny) Bolden, Candace Daymond of Tallahassee, Fla., Erika and Albert Collins of Quincy, Fla., Rickey Beasley of Quincy, Fla. and Keyonjola Beasley of Gulfport, Miss.; three great-grandchildren, Jermaine Walker II, Dyani and Dion Bolden of Tallahassee, Fla.; siblings, Rosemary Manker, Grace Earlene Stinson of Live Oak, Fla., Ivory (Sherral) Haywood of Tampa, Fla., Jordan Beasley, Lamar Beasley of Lake City, Fla. and Tonya Beasley of Jacksonville, Fla.
Mr. Beasley is preceded in death by Naomi Davis and Roosevelt Beasley.
Memorial service for Mr. Samuel J. A. Beasley will be Saturday, February 18, 2017 at Ebenezer A.M.E Church at 11 a.m. Rev. Charles Graham Pastor, Reverend Raynetta Pandley.
